Quern / upper stone

Upper stone from a granite disc quern, the upper surface has a raised collar around the feeder pipe and four perpendicular raised arms forming a cross, the cross decoration does not seem to have Christian symbolism, from a sand bank at Machair an Dunghaineacha, north east of Bailevanaich, Benbecula, Inverness-shire, c. 1800 - 1810
